2024-11-10 Students Dive into the Vibrant World of India by the Bay

Three 6A students, Alisha, Bethany and Zoe, from our school recently participated in an engaging activity organized by India by the Bay, Hong Kong's premier week-long celebration of Indian arts, culture, and heritage. This annual festival brings the essence of India to the city through a diverse showcase of music, dance, theatre, cinema, literature, wellness, fashion, and food. For nearly a decade, India by the Bay has successfully bridged cultures, captivating and uniting the people of Hong Kong through vibrant performances and interactive sessions.
Co-presented by Teamwork Arts and the Asia Society Hong Kong Center, the festival, now in its 9th edition, continues to champion the arts as a means of fostering connections and dialogue. During the event, the students had the opportunity to engage in a thought-provoking discussion with the esteemed author and scientist, Aarathi Prasad, known for her recent work "Silk: A History in Three Metamorphoses". This enlightening conversation delved into the rich history of silk and its enduring significance in the modern world.
The students found the experience enriching, gaining valuable insights and broadening their perspectives by interacting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. India by the Bay not only entertained but also served as a platform for learning and cultural exchange, leaving a lasting impact on our students' understanding of art, history, and global connections.
