1. HKUST Underwater robot competition
On 9 July 2021, five students of our school: Baig Mirza Mustafa, Murtaza Ali, Wu Supeng, Velappan Shannia Ferrer and Hussain Qasim, participated in the Underwater Robot Competition 2021 which was organised by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
A total of 70 teams - from different types of schools and comprising students from diverse cultural, social and academic backgrounds - participated. Student mentors from HKUST provided training for basic robot skills, and then guided them to design their unique underwater robots to complete a series of underwater missions which were conducted throughout the competition.
Our school team performed well and was awarded first prize and Achievement Level Bronze. Congratulations to the winners, and we hope they can continue to develop their potential in science and technology.
2. Mass Robot Programming for a New World Record
On 22nd and 23rd August, 2021, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) organized "Mass Robot Programming for a New World Record", a mega event designed to create a world record for the simultaneous programming of robots, and present a mass robot performance in Hong Kong. Our school was one of the participating local schools in the challenge to set a new world record. Thanks to the great efforts and active participation of our students (Chen Megan, Igloria Chloe Faye, Lo Mia Carina, Nsubuga Bethany Anison, Sutradhar Tapasa, Yu Jenny, Cheung Yat Long, Yu Daniel, Malla Subika, Menga Debbie Kinkani, Chan Lok Him, Talledo Tamara Miyonette, Duranczyk Brendan Anthony, Yeung Cheuk Yin, Suwanphong Tanaporn, Chosen Chu and Leung Ho Wang), Mass Robot Programming for a New World Record was a huge success.
On 30th June, 2021, our school organized a catapult competition for S.4 and S.5 physics students. The winning team - comprising Su jialin, Wong Hau Hei and Talledo June Eduard - will go on to represent our school in an external catapult competition on 25th September, 2021.
