![]() The debate team of Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School achieved a remarkable victory in the quarter-final round of the 14th Inter-government Secondary Schools Debate Competition on 3 May 2025. Led by team captain Yazmin Tamrakar (5B), they faced King’s College team on the motion: “Fast food advertisements that are aimed at children should be regulated.” The team won decisively, with a score of 3-0. The debating skill of team captain and other team members, Arsam Saberi (4A) and Mandasari Andrea Stephani (4A) was commendable. FGSS Principal Ms. Wong Pik Wah presented the winner’s certificate to the SEK Debate Team. With this victory, SEK team advances to the Semi-Finals to be held on 17 May 2025, building excitement for their next challenge! |

Led by team captain Yazmin Tamrakar (5B), they faced Sha Tin Government Secondary School on the motion: "The comprehensive assistance scheme for the unemployed should be abolished for abled persons." The team won decisively, with a score of 3-0, and Yazmin was awarded Best Debater. Team members Arsam Saberi and Mandasari Andrea Stephanie also contributed to the win. FGSS Principal Ms. Wong Pik Wah presented the certificates. With this victory, SEK advances to the Quarter Finals on 3 May 2025, building excitement for their next challenge! |

![]() On January 19, 2025, the Principal, the Assistant Principal Mr CHAN, Miss Poon, and S3-S5 students went to the Education and Career Expo 2025 in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event showed many educational opportunities and career paths. Students felt inspired to think about their futures. They received an invitation to join the Recruitment Seminars from the Civil Service Bureau. This chance helps students learn about public service jobs and talk with professionals. They can also understand the application process. The visit opened their eyes to new possibilities for their careers. |

Radio drama at Metro Radio Our Basic Law Ambassadors 繆依彤, 梁嘉珩, 周焯萱, 黃厚文 wrote a radio drama script about the Basic Law. On September 25, under the guidance of Vice Principal Mr.Chan, they went to the Metro Radio headquarters for recording. Metro Radio will broadcast our school's radio drama at the end of October. |

SEK Students Shine at Time-to-Talk Public Speaking Competition Students from Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon) recently showcased their exceptional public speaking skills by winning the prestigious Merit Award at the Time-to-Talk Public Speaking Competition, organized by the Education Bureau's NET Section on 14 May, 2024. The accomplished students—Mandasari Andrea Stephanie, Ali Shiloh Asia, and Susita Gurung, all from class 4A—received merit certificates and HK$500 coupons for their outstanding performance. Their captivating speech centered on the theme of indigenous cultures and highlighted how these cultural practices contribute to environmental protection. The trio delivered a stunning rendition inspired by the song Where You Are from the beloved Disney film Moana, leaving the audience both informed and inspired. |
2024 The Poetry Remake Competition The Poetry Remake Competition is a cross-curricular activity jointly organised by the English Language Education Section and Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute. The competition integrates literary appreciation and art creation. Students create a two-dimensional artwork in response to one of the selected poems and then write an artist statement in English to explain the ideas in their work.
